Sam Sara

Staff are nice, decors is nice, just lacks a bit of atmosphere, there doesn't really seem to be a buzz about the place. You might enjoy the occasion but you wouldn't be rushing back.

They have interesting nights here! They play some good music. Its an expensive place but I have had fun here. I only had a scone here or something for lunch once so can't talk about the food quality but the interior is beautiful! Even worth just walking into!

Last Friday I attended the lunch there too and must say that I agree with guys re: the atmospehere of the place. I mean the design is interesting but feels more like a place to have a glass of whiskey rather than food. It was not busy so it was not tiring but from a lunch place you would expect more energy. Thanks to Connector.ie and Truvo, I was treated to a lunch here last Friday. The place had a nice atmosphere, though it was very quiet for Friday lunch time. The food on offer was interesting and varied. I had the seafood risotto myself, and heard good things about the anti-pasti dish and the soup. They also apparently pull a good pint of Guinness (this was from the one having the liquid lunch )

Went here last week for the connector lunch. Met some nice people in very opulent surroundings. Food was very good and the Guinness was nice & cold ! The staff were fvriendly and the food was served fairly quickly. There wasn't many other customers, but this could be due to the fact it was a friday lunchtime. Agree with the guys on this place, while it was fine and all - the service was good, menu pretty varied, decor interesting, the place just lacked a bit of a buzz that would entice you to return.
Also the sheperds pie was super salty for my liking.

On the plus side though they have free wifi which is pretty handy - just pop into the reception of the hotel and they'll sort you out!

I had lunch recently in Sam Sara, and ordered the Chicken Ceaser Salad. Fast, efficient service and the food tasted great. Really good anchovies! The place is really well fitted out, and deserves its place along side the likes of Cafe en Seine and Ron Blacks, also on Dawson St. The atmosphere was a little dull, but we were only in there for lunch, it was still pretty early. About 12 of us went here for a Connector Lunch on Friday and all were happy enough with our experience. I had a steak sandwich and the food was nice and pretty prompt.

The issue they has is that place is soooo big that it lacks customers, atmosphere and a buzz, even on a Friday.

Overall it was a good lunch but it is not a place you are likely to bump into anyone you know ... so not ideal for a 'Connector' ;-0

The best thing about Sam Sara for lunch is that you will always get a table and the food and service is fast and efficient. ]

The bar itself - long and quite narrow and well decorated. A good spot for a drink after work, but not the place for me for lunch.
